Leafpaw was lying in a soft nest in her den, unaware of what was happening around her. Leafpaw's shallow breathing mostly stayed the same all the while, getting a slight bit better after her bloody leg was removed from the trap. Mothflight

(Hey! This is a year late, and idk why I'm doing this lol. I don't expect you to reply or anything, I'm just bored. Happy chinese new years!) Leafpaw sented the sharp smell of comfrey. In her rather unconscious state, the pale brown apprentice started to murmur what confrey did to the body, and how it should be used. Leafpaw's small pink nose twitched, and Leafpaw's lush green eyes cracked open. Although hardly aware of what was going on around her, Leafpaw could feel that something was wrong. The small apprentice knew she was in her den, but why wasn't she in her own nest, curled up comfortably in her nest, sleeping with the reassuring knowledge that if anything happened, Leafpaw would immediately know? Why did the den all of a sudden seem cramped and uncomfortable? Leafpaw suddenly realized -- or thought she realized what was going on. Leafpaw tried to connect the dots. Mothflight was rushing around, that urgent look blazing in her amber eyes. Leafpaw was in the middle of the den, and was probably watching over an ill cat all night, when she fell asleep. That would also explain why it didn't seem like the crack of dawn, when she normally would wake up. But that wouldn't explain why she was sleeping in a nest, instead of crouched by one. And why was Mothflight glancing over at her, looking at Leafpaw as if she were the cat Mothflight was so worried about. Leafpaw tried to get up to apologize to her mentor and try to help the golden she-cat, but when Leafpaw attempted to lift her paws up, a searing pain shot through her leg that Leafpaw wasn't fully conscious of before. Leafpaw gave a small, frustrated growl, and then glanced over to her leg, seeing what was wrong with it. Leafpaw's eyes widened at the sight. Her nest was half drenched in blood, and her fur was soaking with it. That was why her nest was so uncomfortable; it was damp with blood. Her back leg was pale and slightly bulgy, as if it were going to fall off. Then, Leafpaw realized the real truth. What her mind was trying to conceal. And the memories all came rushing back to the terrified she-cat. "H-how long has it been?" Leafpaw murmured. it was mid-day, and raining outside. It was perfectly clear and dawn when she remembered the twoleg and dog jumping up at her. Mothflight
