Breezestar Icebreeze stared across the trees, into the open moor of GaleClan. She thought about what her father had said when she was an apprentice. 'Icebreeze. You... you aren't who I've let you think you are... you are half-clan. Half GaleClan.' the words just kept rushing over her, over and over again. She stared at a hollow stump. The hollow stump that her father had revealed everything. The hollow stump that she had spent most of the night in. She could almost see the footprints of herself, running swiftly over to the Flight Pool. She shifted her gaze to stare across the open field once again. But she suddenly felt the scent of a BreezeClan cat wash upon her. A familiar scent. Much like her own. A tom, she noted. Smells something like me, a bit sharper, with the tang of rabbit.Icebreeze saw the grass shift, and soon a dark-grey, tall, lean tom stepped out of the brownish grass, and her own stunning blue eyes met a matching pair.

Breezestar sprang back instantly when the smell of VineClan washed over him, tearing at a scar that had never healed. A snarl built up in his throat, and his dark grey fur started bristling, blue eyes edged with a glare.
"Who are you, VineClan cat?" he hissed, lean body tensed and rigid. Even as he spoke, he couldn't help remembering his mother. VineClan cat. He was part VineClan cat.
Disgusting.

She immediately recognized the tom.
Breezestar. Leader of GaleClan. Her brother.
But she couldn't move. She couldn't say a word. But the white she-cat kept her gaze steady, locking it with him. They seemed to say: Don't you recognize me? Don't I seem familiar?

Breezestar's blue eyes were narrowed, his dark grey fur bristled in absolute fury. But the white she-cat didn't speak, only held his gaze steadily. It annoyed him.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" he snarled, his snow-white claws glinting as they sank into the ground. "I asked you a question!"

Icebreeze finally broke her gaze away, but then refused to look at him directly. "I'm Icebreeze, medicine cat of VineClan...." she finally mewed.

Icebreeze. Ah. The name was somewhat familiar, though the young leader never saw her at any Gatherings.
"And why are you so close to the border?"

"Waiting," she mewed, more confident with each growing second. She had avoided all gatherings she could, not wanting to be seen by him.
"For you." Icebreeze suddenly meowed after a moment. "At the spot where I discovered myself my true blood bonds." she let her gaze drop for a moment, then lifted it back up. "I-I'm...I'm your sister."

For him? Why? His answer was provided by the she-cat's next words.
"No you're not," he hissed, fury instantly overcoming him. "I have no family. No mother, no father, no sister!"
Anger at his mother, at his father washed over him, burning under his paws. His blue eyes were still narrowed.

"Well, maybe you didn't hear the whole story." Icebreeze retorted.

"I don't NEED to hear the whole story!" Breezestar snapped, showing his gleaming white teeth. But curiosity pushed him over the edge, and he shuddered a disgusted sigh, making an effort to smoothen his fury.
"Alright, go on then," he reconciled in a low growl.

"Well, I know that you know you're half-blood like me...." she started off unsurely, not knowing how the tom would react if she mentioned it. "My, and your father, was in VineClan, as you know. Our father told me you already knew, but never mentioned if you stayed and listened the whole time. I quickly caught on that you didn't, shortly after. He told me that I had a brother, under the name 'Breezepaw'." Icebreeze paused for a moment, listening for his reaction.

Breezestar's lip was still curled, his ears flattened against his head.
"Well I'm not Breezepaw anymore," he snarled. "I'm Breezestar, leader of GaleClan, loyal to my Clan and my Clan only!" without another word, he whirled around and bounded off back into the depth of GaleClan territory, willing to forget everything that just happened.
-give him time, he'll come around-

(okay)
Icebreeze stared off after him, her eyes following the tom all the way into the grass, as his ears disappeared behind the long, wavy stands. Sighing, she padded over to a tree, and easily and quietly clawed her way up to the branches.
Finding a suitable spot, high up in the tree, Icebreeze sat down, and fixed her gaze to where Breezestar had disappeared. She turned her head. Now looking to the many trees of VineClan, she sighed, and then looked down at her white paws.
(is this the end of the thread?)
